Oklahoma Psychedelic Collective: Our Core Priorities
Obtain 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status
Achieving federal nonprofit status will allow the organization to receive tax-deductible donations and grants from individuals, businesses, and foundations. This essential step will provide financial resources to support public education, community outreach, operational costs, and future research initiatives.
Advocate for Psychedelic Research Legislation in Oklahoma
Support legislation such as HB 2107, which aims to facilitate scientific research into the therapeutic use of psychedelics. By collaborating with policymakers, medical professionals, and advocacy groups, we aim to:
- Highlight evidence-based benefits of psychedelics for mental health conditions such as PTSD, depression, and addiction.
- Mobilize public and legislative support for safe, regulated research pathways.
- Position Oklahoma as a leader in innovative mental health solutions.
Promote Public Education and Awareness
Normalize conversations around psychedelic therapies through accessible education programs and harm-reduction initiatives. Key efforts will include:
- Hosting workshops, events, and webinars to share accurate, science-based information.
- Providing resources on harm reduction, safe use, and the therapeutic applications of psychedelics.
- Reducing stigma and misinformation through outreach to diverse communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers.
Build a Collaborative and Inclusive Community
Foster a mission-driven, inclusive community by connecting advocates, researchers, mental health professionals, and the general public. This includes:
- Facilitating partnerships with universities, nonprofits, and local organizations.
- Hosting networking events, panel discussions, and collaborative forums to share knowledge and resources.
- Ensuring equity and accessibility so all communities can participate in the conversation.
